Fiona Stewart

Practice Manager

Fiona Stewart

Location: Blackheath

Joining the company as a paraplanner in 2018, Fiona brings wide-ranging financial and organisational experience to the Starkey team.

A graduate in Business Studies from City University Business School, London, Fiona initially worked as an investment analyst, then fund manager. Over a period of 17 years until the birth of her second child in 2002 she worked for a large nationalised industry pension fund, a small unit trust company and a global investment bank.

Fiona decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps by retraining as a teacher whilst her children were young and spent thirteen years as a primary teacher in three London schools, being part of a team that took one failing school from “special measures” to “most improved” London school.

Craving variety and a fresh challenge, Fiona left teaching in 2015, gaining the Level 4 financial planning qualification, the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) in just seven months.

Following qualification, she initially worked with a small IFA company that was in the process of being sold to a large national consolidator. This environment provided valuable experience in paraplanning for multiple financial planners coming from myriad different firms, each with their own set of business processes. However, as part of the consolidation process, Fiona was unprepared to relocate out of London, so resigned her position and joined Starkey in early 2018.

As part of Ian’s team in Blackheath, Fiona loves working with a small financial planning company focussed on delivering a high quality, professional service for each and everyone of its clients.

Fiona continues to study and is on track to complete the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in early 2019.
